This is a link to the movie, Shadow on the Land; one which I’ve been trying to locate for years. It is appropriate now, with the presidency of Trump on the horizon.
There is something we all can do to try and prevent January 20th from being the biggest buzz-kill in our national history!
Remember that on December 19, 2016– 35 days from now, the Electoral College will vote for President. What is not widely known is that they can actually vote for Hillary, and make her the president, not Trump!
All it takes is a big set of balls, a vote for Hillary, and the EC can correct this mistake. There already is a movement for the next General Election to have states’ electors cast their votes for the popular vote winner and so far, 160 Electoral Votes have been committed to this new method.
But we can make that happen this year!
What happens if a state already “committed” to Trump votes for Clinton? That state has to pay a fine. The penalty is a slap on the wrist, so to speak. Already there are many high rollers willing to pay all fines incurred, so that the Electors need not worry about the costs involved.
Tell everybody you know: friends, relatives, business acquaintances who you know to be against what Trump stands for: misogyny, racism, bigotry, being a puppet of Putin, allowing Steve Bannon, an ultra-right-wing White Supremacist in the White (irony) House… All of that negativity is going to move into the Seat of US Power. If we all act now, we may, just possibly, turn this whole thing around.
Tell people to sign petitions to get the Electoral College to change their votes.
